Who we are

Mangalore Travel Service is a taxi and travel operator based in Mangaluru, Karnataka. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described below.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to call you back and arrange your trip. When you submit the enquiry form we record:

• Your name and phone number — required, so we can contact you
• Your email address — only if you choose to give it
• Trip details: vehicle type, journey date, destination and any notes you add
• Which page you submitted the form from
• A one-way encrypted fingerprint of your IP address, and your browser type

We do not store your raw IP address. We convert it into an irreversible hash used solely to block spam and automated submissions — it cannot be turned back into an IP address or used to identify you.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Fares are settled directly with us.

Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry — calling or messaging you about the trip you asked about
• To arrange and deliver the journey — assigning a vehicle and driver
• To keep a record of bookings — for our own operational and accounting purposes
• To prevent abuse — blocking spam and automated form submissions

We rely on the consent you give by ticking the consent box on the form. We will not add you to any marketing list, and we do not send promotional messages unless you separately ask us to.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses the following third-party services, which set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:

• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous statistics about how many people visit and which pages they read
• Google Tag Manager — manages the tags listed here
• Google Ads — measures which adverts led to enquiries, and may show you our adverts on other websites (remarketing)

These services may process your data outside India. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, control personalised advertising through your Google Ad Settings, and block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking these will not stop you using the site or contacting us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing.

Your details are seen only by our own booking staff, and by the driver assigned to your trip — who is given only what is needed to complete the journey, such as your name, phone number and pickup point. We also use a website hosting provider (Hostinger) whose servers store the enquiry data on our behalf, and the analytics providers named above. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for 24 months from the date you contact us, after which they are deleted. We keep them this long because customers frequently return for seasonal trips, temple circuits and repeat airport transfers, and it helps us serve you faster. If you would like your details removed sooner, just ask — see below.

How we protect it

The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Enquiry data is held in a password-protected database that is not publicly accessible, and the staff dashboard requires a username and password with limits on repeated failed sign-in attempts. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
• Erase your information where we no longer need it
• Withdraw your consent — after which we will stop contacting you about the enquiry
• Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to

Children

This website is intended for adults making travel bookings. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child has submitted their details to us, contact us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted here.
